Hematology Clinical Trial Center

Helping academic hematology trials run faster and smarter—for the benefit of patients.

Overview

The Hematology Clinical Trial Center (HCTC) is a non‑profit initiative by the European Hematology Association. We provide practical, hands‑on operational support to academic investigators running clinical trials in hematology. Our goal is to help you navigate complex regulatory and operational requirements, so you can focus on scientific leadership and patient care.

HCTC was created with direct input from investigators across Europe to strengthen academic research capacity and enable more high‑quality hematology trials.

How HCTC Helps You

HCTC offers tailored, modular support across the full clinical trial lifecycle. You can select only the services you need, when you need them—keeping support flexible and cost‑efficient.

Our core areas of support include:

  • Planning and setting up your trial, from protocol design to site activation and study closure
  • Navigating regulatory and ethical requirements
  • Reducing administrative workload
  • Managing operational steps during the trial and its close‑out

Our aim is to remove operational barriers, enabling promising hematology research to reach patients faster.

Your Partnership with HCTC

Every trial is different and we adapt our support to the specific needs of your study and team.

When you work with HCTC, you benefit from:

  • A dedicated Clinical Project Manager as the primary point of contact
  • Flexible support modules that can be engaged at any trial stage
  • Regular check‑ins and expert guidance to address questions, reduce bottlenecks, and keep your study moving forward

Strengthening Trial Capacity

HCTC is committed not only to the success of your ongoing study, but also to your long-term research capability.

By working with HCTC, you and your institution can:

  • Participate in more complex or multi‑center trials, even with limited infrastructure
  • Use repeatable tools and workflows that accelerate future studies
  • Strengthen your visibility and attractiveness as a trial partner
  • Build confidence in regulatory, ethical, and operational processes

Each collaboration with HCTC is an investment in sustainable academic trial capacity.

Who We Support

HCTC primarily works with:

  • Early‑career investigators in hematology
  • Academic research groups and consortia
  • Hospitals and clinics with limited trial infrastructure
  • Multi‑site or cross‑border collaborations

Our services are designed to help more centers participate in high‑quality, investigator‑initiated, and collaborative clinical trials.

Our Relationship to the EHA Foundation

HCTC operates as part of the EHA Foundation portfolio, supporting its goals of advancing education, research, and capacity-building in hematology.

As a non‑profit, public‑benefit initiative, HCTC has no commercial interest in the trials it supports. Its focus is entirely on advancing independent academic hematology research.
